When I sew, I don’t listen to music, I prefer watching/listening to TV programs or audiobooks. Given the recent election coverage and the doom and gloom talk about the current economic situation in Ireland, listening to the radio is not really an option at the moment. So after watching the West Wing 3 times, the Wire twice, The Good Wife and Justified once and many other lesser TV series, I needed something new. I started watching some TED videos on a variety of subjects. These videos feature innovative thinkers in all domains and can be viewed or downloaded from the TED website or as video podcasts from iTunes. Here are my favourites of the last couple of weeks :
- Dale Dougherty : We are all Makers
- Oliver Sacks : What hallucination reveal about our minds
- Liza Donnelly : Drawing upon humour for change
- Rufus Griscom & Alisa Volkman : Let’s talk parenting taboos
Take a look at TED, you will find plenty of interesting talks !
